Description: A an incomplete copper-alloy medieval buckle with incomplete folded plate. The buckle is a single loop D-shape with a narrow offset pin bar, the pin is missing. The plate is in two fragments and is rectangular in plan. The plan would have been folded round the pin bar and has a recess for the pin. The upper plate is 27.45mm in length and 10.10mm wide.The lower plate is narrower and shorter than the top plate (22.15mm in length, 6.95mm wide). A rivet is located at the attachment end of the reverse plate, with a corresponding perforation on the upper plate. A rivet survives visible in the fragment of the lower plate. Both plates have evidence of tinning. The buckle is 37.45mm in length, 14.95mm wide and weighs 2.59 grams.
