STRAP FITTING 557359

Description: An incomplete Post-Medieval/ Early-Modern copper alloy unidentified object, consisting of a bent loop, D-shaped in cross-section and flat to the reverse. To one side the frame thickens and has a central piercing c.5mm in diameter. Beyond is a worn projection, possibly a loop turned through 90 degrees and now broken across the loop. The loop would have originally measured c.56mm in length. It now measures 37.92x35.83x5.27mm and weighs 4.67g. The metal appears to have been cleaned or treated and almost all of the original patina is now missing.
