Description: A plated copper alloy contemporary copy of a Roman solidus of Valentinian I dating to the period c. AD 364-367 (Reece period 19), RESTITVTOR REIPVBLICAE reverse type, depicting Emperor standing facing holding labarum and Victory on globe. Copying mint of Milan. Cf RIC Vol IX page 75, number 2(a). The copper alloy core is visible at 12 o'clock on the obverse and 6 o'clock on the reverse.
