Description: A slightly worn and defaced Post-Medieval silver threepence of Elizabeth I (1558-1603), second issue, initial mark: sword (North 1998, dating to 1582). Measures 18.83mm, weighs 0.88g. Scratch and punch marks behind the head suggests the intentional obliteration of the rose, therby increasing the value of the coin to that of a halfgroat (fourpence).
