Description: An fragment of Middle Early-Medieval (720-900) copper alloy polyhedral-headed pin, consisting of the head and top of the shaft only. It measures 14.73mm in length and weighs 1.4g.
The head (8.25x5.95x5.77mm) is in the shape of a cube with the corners cut off, and each cube face is decorated with a ring-and-dot stamp. Some facets, particularly towards the top of the pin, are badly worn and/ or corroded. There is apparently no collar below the head.
The shaft is circular in cross-section and measures 1.77mm in diameter. It bends slightly before the break.
