Description: A Roman (AD 43-410) copper alloy probable furniture fitting, consisting of a circular disc 16.03mm in diameter, flat to the underside and slightly convex to the upper side, at the centre of which is hemi-spherical globular protrusion (c.7x3.5mm). To the reverse is a 5.51mm diameter rivet, 2.5mm long with a splayed, flattened end, 11.07mm in diameter and 1.35mm thick. The object stands 10.42mm and weighs 5.64g.
