Description: Incomplete, cast copper-alloy bow brooch of Colchester derivative Polden Hill (flat wing ends type, Eastern Group); . The circular-sectioned bow is flat and the lower part is missing. The cross-bar is wide and houses the sprung pin by securing the axial bar between the oval ends of the cross-bar. The spring had ten turns and the external chord would have passed through a hole in the head which resembles a crest. The cross-bar has a moulded ridge at either end with knurled astragoloid mouldings and a diagonal ridge either side of the junction with the bow. The bow has a median ridge and ridges at either side of the head; all of which have knurled mouldings. The pin, lower bow and catchplate is missing.
