POLISHED AXEHEAD 33649

Description: Neolithic polished flint axe. Wide blade tapering to butt with rounded edge, much of which is damaged. White/grey flint with iron staining on both surfaces. At the blade edge is a fossil incorporated within the flint and a further anomaly which runs through the flint. Both sides were polished and some of this surface survives, although there are heavy flake removal scars on both sides. Width: 31-61.5
