VESSEL 159543

Description: A rim sherd from a cast copper-alloy vessel, now sub-trapezoidal in form. The fragment now has a dark green patina. It is scratched, but the scratches do not seem to form decoration. The curvature of the fragment suggests that the vessel of which it would have once formed part would have had a diameter of approximately 300mm. This could plausibly therefore have come from a cauldron of probable late medieval or post-medieval date.
