Description: An irregularly shaped flint handaxe of Lower Paleolithic date. The implement is bi-facially worked and slightly curved in profile. The flake removals are secondary; areas of cortex remain on both faces. The patination colour on both faces is variable, from a light grey through mid-orange to a darker grey-brown. The light grey has been revealed by some recent removals at the tip.
