SPINDLE WHORL 130074

Description: Post medieval lead spindle whorl or weight. Its base is 27.6mm in diameter and it stands 6.8mm in height. The sides slope to the 'top', which is 22mm in diameter. It has a central piercing 5.5mm in diameter on the underside and 5.8mm on the 'top' side. Although in shape it resembles a spindle whorl, the similarity of these diameters suggests it did not have much give in it to 'whirl'. It weighs 35.49g.
