Description: Early post medieval copper alloy button with a broken integral shank. Its diameter is 16mm and it weighs 2.50g. It stands an incomplete 5.7mm high, to the end of its broken shank.
The decoration comprises a central punched dot with incised ring around it, from which extends a hatched four-bladed impeller, with another 'ring-and-dot' between each blade. An incised line flanks the edge.
Cf Brian Read's 'Metal buttons', 2005, nos.117-119. He dates these to about the 17th century.
