Description: A complete stone weight of uncertain date. The chalk has been shaped into a oval with a single pierced hole at one apex (the hole widens through the item, diameter 10mm on one surface and 15mm on the other surface). The pierced hole shows no sign of wear. Stone weights are very difficult to date unless found in association with other archaeological finds or remains, as the form changed little from prehistory until the post medieval period.
