Description: A complete lead octagonal standing weight of probable medieval or post medieval date. The body is crudely faceted to create eight faces of unequal width. One one of the broadest faces is a modern 'nick' damage which reveals the underlying material and created a slight bulge. On the two opposing broadest faces the weight has an inward step before forming a flattened knop with a convex top, forming the handle. The handle is not pierced. The flat base does not appear octagonal but rather is sub-circular or sub-square shape. It is undecorated apart from a single indentation in one 'corner'.
