CANDLE SNUFFER 1034648

Description: An incomplete cast Post-Medieval copper-alloy candle snuffer (c.1700-1800). It comprises a hollow cone which terminates at the apex with a shouldered knop with a suspension hole. An 'L-shaped' handle projects from one side of the lower cone. It is a separate piece, attached by a narrow lug through a hole in the the wall of the cone, and flattened to secure it. A single decorative line follows the lower circumference, 3.8mm from the base.
