KNIFE 1030913
Description: A pair of copper alloy plates with engraved decoration which are mounted on an iron fragment. The copper alloy plates are trapezoidal, flaring slightly from a flat edge to a wider rounded edge. Both feature engraved designs which are of uncertain form, probably floral or foliate. The iron is heavily corroded with old breaks or corrosion to all sides suggesting the plates were originally mounted on a larger iron object, perhaps a knife, dagger or sword blade. The total thickness of the object is around 5mm.
