Description: An incomplete copper alloy Roman Colchester Derivative hinged brooch, of South-Western type Mackreth 2011, CD Ha 10.c. dating to the 1st century AD (c. 50-80AD). The head of the brooch has tubular wings with moulded ridges around the ends. Traces of the iron axis bar remain within. The head is flanked by moulded shoulders where the arms join. The bow has a moulded spine at the head end and a sub rounded cross section along much of its length, with a flat vertical foot with partial catchplate remaining.
