VESSEL 101192

Description: A hollow copper-alloy flask. It has a circular opening expanding to a rounded base (D. 20.9-35.4mm). Lug handles on each side – one very damaged, but the other is D-shaped. There are file marks, particularly around the lugs. The object is complete, although there is some damage to the surface. Mid-dark green patina. A similar object found in Surrey (SUR-FA2AB0) carries the inscription OLEVM CHRISM, and therefore presumably contained holy oil.
