House owned by the Nicholls family, the home of Sir Charles and Lady Burrard until 1885, when it was acquired by the crown 'and has been nearly rebuilt'. After that it was let to a whole series of tenants, including George Meyrick (1855-1928), son of the developer of Bournemouth.
