Dock House, The
Description:
This house was built for Mrs Eleanor Stuart-Wortley before World War I but she sold it almost immediately after the armistice. A few years later Palace Cottage was altered for her. In 1923 the occupant was Ingo Simon, singer and archery enthusiast (1875-1964) [when he died in 1964, Ingo Simon left £229,927 gross, £216,077 net (duty paid, £148,267), The Times, 18 Jan 1965].
