Apple Tree Court

New house built on the former Glasshayes estate, by George Herbert Kitchin, architect, for Edward Penton, of Messrs. E. Penton and Son, Leather Merchants, supplier of boots to the army in the Great War. Penton had sold it by 1922 to Herbert Knight, architect of many buildings in the City of London, perhaps retaining the ‘two cottages and motor house’ that were not for sale at that time.
