Description:
Burley Beacon was rebuilt or enlarged between 1871 and 1897, and enlarged again before 1909. William Morris Fletcher, JP, is listed in the 1898, 1899, 1903 and 1915 directories but not in the 1907 one, when Major Norman C. Perkins (1861-1939) of the Indian Staff Corps (retired) was in residence, perhaps a tenant.
