Boldre Grange

New house built by Norman Shaw for John Lane Shrubb, nephew of the Rev. Henry Shrubb, and brother of Charles Shrubb of Merrist Hill near Guildford. After Shrubb's death in 1884, his widow Sibilla lived there until her death in 1912. The house was sold after the death of their son John in 1918. For sale again 'at a very low reserve' in 1921, after 'large sums of money [had] recently been expended'.
