Description:

A farm called Salters Hill until the 1900s, it was described in 1931 as a 'delightful modernized 16th Century House with many old-world features and recently the subject of great expenditure'. Three inhabitants are listed in directories: Henry Hugh L. Miller in 1915, the Hon. Mrs Lubbock in 1920 and Ernest R. Barrow in 1923.Widnell p. 391 In 1922 ‘The gracious and kindly Mrs ET Lubbock of Salterns Hill entertains the Sunday School children from park to a “charming outing to Bournemouth”. Mrs Bolton of the House in the Wood gave a “thorough good tea to the elder Sunday school children [of Beaulieu].’
