House built in the eighteenth century by 'Mr Mitchell, a West Indian Proprietor', and sold to [John] Pulteney, who let it to tenants, including the Earl of Londesborough. For sale in 1890. Around 1895 it was purchased by Edward Festus Kelly, chairman of Kelly's Directories, who leased it back to the Pulteneys. Col. Fenwick Bulmer de la Sales Terriere in 1907, Francis Bowes Lyon from at least 1914 until he sold it in 1918, and Capt. William Henry Trinder in 1920.
