Description: Article in the Lymington Times about the proposals to give statutory powers - for the purpose of planning and funding - to the New Forest Committee, who see it as a co-ordinating role. Not a national park in the 1949 sense, which would not be in the interests of the Forest. But protection for the wider Heritage Area needed. Overcrowding by local council representatives a major criticism.
