Description: Notice of Special General Meeting to be held at Brockenhurst College to discuss the resolution, proposed by John Broughton and Anthony Pasmore to oppose the National Park because: 1. it would weaken the position of the Verderers (and thus damage the Forest and the commoners) in the management of the Forest; 2. it would encourage more tourism, excess recreational pressure and urbanisation of the Forest; 3. it would make it easier for local councils to push through damaging public development such as the Lyndhurst by-pass.
