TNA SC 8/194/9685

Author: Gymmyng, John de, Keeper
Description: John de Gymmyng, Keeper of the New Forest states that Henry Tolouse, Lord of Brookley, who holds a dairy farm in chief of the King in Brookley, had a son, Henry, who was convicted of felony: so that the lands would fall to the King as his escheat after the death of the father. Henry the father has now exchanged these lands for other tenements elsewhere with Richard de Todeworthe, burgess of Salisbury, and John asks the King to give his orders about what should be done about this, as the Keeper performs the office of Escheator in the Forest, and he does not want the King to be disinherited through his negligence.
