TNA SC 8/263/13122A
Author: Quyntyn, William, Prior of Christchurch
Description: The prior of Christchurch, who is parson of Boldre, requests that whereas for a long time he has sued the prior of Breamore in Court Christian concerning tithes of land in Boldre which the prior of Breamore purchased from Kent, and when judgment was about to be returned in the petitioner's favour a prohibition was brought to the judges that the prior of Breamore held all the tithes of his demesne lands in the New Forest of the gift of Henry III and that it was prejudicial to the King for the case to be held in Court Christian, so that the judges surceased and will not proceed, that if it is found that the recognizance of his demand belongs to the King, that he may have a writ to recover his demand in the King's court, and if not that he may have a modification of the prohibition because le Brabazon will not grant it because the writ mentions the gift of Henry III, or that he be ordained some remedy.
