A typed note on a loose A4 paper inside the book reads: "This book was given to me by my grandfather, Ben Rockley. It was given to him by his friend, Frank Parker in the latter stage of his life, his name is on the flyleaf. A photo with Frank and his father Noah can be found on page 80 of the 'New Forest' book, first published in 1979 ISBN 0 9502786 3 7. John Rockley".
