Letter to A. Darby from W. G. Norris, Coalbrookdale

Description: He returns Messrs. Ashurst and Co.'s letter, with a draft reply. He says that in 1870-71 he had a survey and valuation made of the farm [name not given] which included the piece of land [at Farley]. Mr. Rixon drafted the deeds and had to make an addition to include the piece of land. The forge people at Horsehay are forming a Union. It has originated with the Shinglers, whose rate [of pay] Norris wanted to reduce. Asks for advice about how to treat "union fever".
