Description: R.W. (Hyde House) to Sir J.E.S. telling him that although Henry was forbidden by the F.O. to tell anyone but the writer of the extent of his mission, yet the writer thinks that he himself was excepted from this on the grounds of parental feelings and this goes for Sir John also and so that he will tell him what he learnt from Mr. C(anning) which is that Henry is to take out a Commercial Treaty with credentials for Morier as Minister and himself as Secretary, and after completing this Henry is to remain alone as Chargé-d-'Affaires which will bring him (?) 3E a day additional salary besides a house, that this is far better than any European post for so young a diplomat and will also give him £500 a year half pay in future when unemployed, and that Henry and Em are in good spirits and will be much missed
