Description: (a) Lease, 5 May 1746 Piece of parcel of land lying in West Dock Field in Portsea and a shop or shed used as dwelling house now in possession of Henry McCreery built at the east end of the said parcel of land, 26 feet tapering to 7ft in breadth and 54ft long, which James Stuart purchased from Thomas Dibden of Southampton, goldsmith, by lease and release dated 7 and 8 December 1744, bounded by the highway on the north, part of the land purchased by James Stuart from Thomas Dibden now in the occupation of Sarah Hall, widow, and others on the east, a way or passage of 15ft in breadth on the south, and a way or passage of 12ft in breadth on the west. Includes proviso that to verify title of Henry McCreery, James Stuart and others will produce in Court of Record a feoffment of 6 July 1709 between Thomas Seymour of Portsmouth, yeoman, and William Toote of Portsea, bricklayer and Ester his wife; lease and release of 7 and 8 December 1744 between Thomas Dibden of Southampton, goldsmith (nephew and heir of Ester Toote) and Sarah his wife, and James Stuart of Portsea, rigger; and a fine levied at Westminster in 1744 between James Stuart, plaintiff and Thomas Dibden and Sarah his wife, John Horkley and Martha his wife and John Strugnell and Anne his wife, deforciants.
