Description: William Spencer of Cannon Hall, par. Cawthorne, Yorks., esq., of the first part: Thomas Fawley of Holm House, par. Kirkburton, Yorks., clothier, and Esther, his wife, of the second part; John Field of Rawroyd, par. Cawthorne, Yorks., yeoman, of the third part. Reciting a mortgage of 6 and 7 Nov, 1726, when Thomas Fawley mortgaged to John Spencer, father of William Spencer, the following lands: messuage at Bruckhouse, together with all lands and buildings; closes called the Intake, the Two Hall Crofts, the Laith Croft, the Croft at the House, containing around 12 acres, for a principal sum of £100 plus interest. Reciting further that the principal was unpaid and that the property was forfeit to John Spencer. Reciting further that £54, principal and interest, still remains due, and that Field has agreed with Fawley for the purchase of lands listed below of £277 4/-. Therefore, for £54 paid to Spencer, by Field, with the consent of Fawley, the following lands are sold: Messuage or tenement, parcel of the farm called Brookhouse als. Bruckhouse, par. Cawthorne, consisting of 4 bays of building, viz. the rooms called the House, the Parlour, the Shop, the Old House, together with all rooms above or under the same, all which buildings adjoin the close called the Narr Croft or Croft at the House; a buttery or milk-house on the north side of the above granted buildings; a barn or laith commonly used as a corn laith and called the New Laith, adjoining the south/south east of the above granted messuage; hog sty standing in the Narr Croft, to the south/south west of the above granted messuage; part of the garden on the east end of the above granted messuage, being co-extensive with the said messuage on the gavel end to the north and south; closes called the Narr Croft als. Croft at the House, the Laith Croft, the Narr Hall Croft, the Intack, containing altogether, including the building, 8 acres 1 rood 17 poles.
