Memorandum about the estates of Thomas and Francis Kemp
Description: "Now he [Sir John Oglander?] hath kept them all this while and thereby brought a great case upon the estate, and would now part with them, first let him make good the estate and then let him part with it. He saw and red the wyll and knoweth what became of it. He knows Francis Kemps deed made to Thomas, to be voyde in lawe and therefore in 1623 when Mr. Bromfield married his now wife, Sir John took great bonds of the said Arthur Bromfield not to meddle with the administration. Mrs. Bromfield hath a note of all Thomas Kemps estate but none of Francis and thereby Francis' estate may be distinguished [from his brothers]. None but Sir John Oglander took upon himself the executorship. Only Francis Kemp kept the reckoning for 3 months after the death of Thomas." (82/107)
