Description: Folio 56. To: At Webster and Frank Cook, Surveyors, Luton [Bedfordshire]. From: The General Board of Health. Subject Matter: Draft letter acknowledging receipt of a letter of the 10 September 1850 enquiring whether in transmitting their accounts to the Local Board they would be acting legally in paying the debts now due before handing over the books. It is advised that the Local Board are bound to take on the surveyors debts incurred in the discharge of the their duties, and that the books, and monies in hand should be handed over to the Local Board to pay the debts out of such monies.
