Probate copy of will of Maurice Bocland of Knighton, I.W., esq., dated 24 May 1764

Description: My manor or reputed manor of Knighton and my mansion house of Knighton and all my other lands in Isle of Wight, also my coal mines in Somersetshire and all my freehold estates in Great Britain to my wife, Sophia, for life, and also my leasehold dwelling house in Southampton and the lease of the manor of Shepton Mallet, Somerset, for life and after her death to Sir William Trelawney of Buttshead, near Plymouth in Devonshire, bart., Alexander Bissett of Dublin in Ireland, D.D., and Thomas Serle of Newport, gent., upon trust for my grandson, Maurice Bissett, eldest son of the said Alexander Bissett by my daughter, Jane, for my grandson's life, and then to his male issue in turn and for failure of male issue to my grandson, William Bissett, second son of my daughter, Jane, and for failure of issue to Alexander Bissett, the third son and Henry Bissett, the fourth son, and for failure of the issue male of the Bissett family, to my grandson, George Elyott, eldest son of my daughter, Lucy Elyott and her other sons in tail and for failure of male issue of my daughter, Lucy Elyott to my nephew, John Eyre of Landford, Co. Wilts., esq., and for failure of male issue to his brother, Henry Eyre of Brickworth, Wilts., esq., and for failure to my own right heirs
