Probate of the Will of this date of John Muzzall, of Henfield, yeoman

Description: Devise to John Muzzall, son of kinsman Isaac Muzzall, with contingent gifts over mentioning kinsman Thomas Muzzall of Ashurst, yeoman, of copyhold messuages and tenements, held of the Manor of Streatham which had been surrendered to the use of his Will, and two freehold messuages in Steyning in the occupation of John Towner and Thomas Cox and also the Ozier Toft at Bineham Bridge held of the said manor of Streatham; the said premises being charged with the payment of an Annuity of £20 to testator's wife Jane, with power of distress in case of default. Devise in fee to wife Jane and kinsman Isaac Muzzall and Mary the wife of the said Isaac and their youngest child of a tenement and croft of land at Newton in Henfield, then lately purchased of John Deer. Also to said wife Jane the use of specific rooms in his dwellinghouse with necessary furniture and linen Legacies: to said John Muzzall, son of Isaac Muzzall £150 and household goods, linen and plate and husbandry tackling Also to Brother's Thomas and William; James Jeffery, son of William J. of Ashurst, carpenter; Mary and Elizabeth, daughrs. of the said Wm. Jeffery; John, son of Thos. Muzzall of Ashurst; and the Poor of Henfield and Ashurst parishes Residuary legatee and executor: said Isaac Muzzall. Overseers: Hugh Penfold of Wickham in Steyning, yeoman and Thomas Hayne of Henfield, tanner With a Codicil of 26 April, 1753 devising to the said Isaac Muzzall tenements, stable and croft of 2 acres in Henfield, purchased of John Alcock, and in the occupation of John Nye, Thos. Longley and the Widow Chowne Proved at Lewes, 29 May, 1762
