Description: Notes of examination by Philip Dawes and of translation and examination by John Hurst (signs). Refers to service of Robert Pamplyn to the crown, a Commission for survey of 1626, and an Inquisition taken at Winchester on 20 April 1626 containing references to "Geographicall Tables or Maps of Survey" by Edward Maunsell. The lands detailed in the grant comprize 3923 acres formerly creeks etc., and 1500 acres of drowned or surrounded lands. The acreages of lands separately described are noted in the margin and may be compared with a plan reproduced in Extracts from Portsmouth Records, R. East (1891), p.761.
