Description: Draft declaration of Aleck Tyler of Lewes, brazier, that he was ordered by Thomas Hinton Burley Oldfield (1755-1822 ; see D.N.B.) to be at Seaford on 29 Sept. 1789 with his drum and two pairs of drumsticks (there being another drum but no sticks), that he went to the 'Buckle' at Seaford and then beat round the town, that a large mob was collected who breakfasted at the 'Duke's Head', that he then beat round the town for about three hours more when the mob assembled near the Town Hall
