Description: Petition of the merchants and shipowners of Southampton, Poole, Weymouth, Malcombe Regis and the Isle of Wight to the Privy Council against the granting of a patent to Thos. Horth and his associates and the resultant charges on salt, as being prejudicial to the King's Customs and the petitioners' trade n.d. (1638) On dorse the opinion of John Crawkerne that Southampton and the Isle of Wight, with the help of Portsmouth and Lymington, pay 2/3 of the charge of Poole, Weymouth and Malcombe Regis pay the other 1/3 10th December 1638
