Memorandum of agreement

Description: John Newton of Thorpe, Lincs., bart., and Dame Susannah, his wife, have sold a moity of the estates of Barmby and Hugsetts, par. Cawthorne and Silkstone, to John Spencer of Cannon Hall, par. Cawthorne, gent., for £1,300. John Spencer, by the hands of John Simpson of Renishey, Derbys., gent., and Nicholas Burley of Woolley, Yorks., has given a bill of exchange for £1,300. Simpson and Burley agree to pay the £1,300 should the bill be refused.
