Description: All in the parish of Carisbrooke which (1) purchased from John Snell on 9 Aug 1856 (ELD87/38/22/7) Also parcel of land (2r. 36p.) formerly part of Carisbrooke Common Field also 3 pieces of land called Cherry Pit Acre, Serles and Corbit Acre lying in the Common Fields of Carisbrooke (1a.3r.6p.) all formerly thrown together to form one field, but now divided and bounded in the east by the land formerly James Kirkpatrick, but now John Gould called White Pit and Harvey Down [part of South St. Cross] on west [other abuttals given] with tithes of last described lands (1) Edward Love Griffiths of Newport, gent (2) James Woodford of 4 St. Johns Terrace, Island of Guernsey, gent. brother and exor. of Ruth Lacey of Godshill, I.W., widow [former mortgagee] (3) Joseph and Benjamin Saunders of Carisbrooke, market gardeners [mortgagee] (4) William Loe of Billingham, yeoman
