Lady Knightley to Miss Palliser
Description: Sorry she cannot help with deputation but she has left London for the season. Hardly knows Lady Wemyss and Lady Montague of Beaulieu ('if it is the reigning lady') not at all. Wishes she could suggest other Conservative Ladies 'but our party are sadly blind'. Suggests Mrs. Benson, widow of Archbishop, 'a valiant supporter, but I suppose would hardly count as a Conservative'. Encloses contribution towards expenses of declaration, as requested earlier by Miss Clementina Black.
