Previously John Hale, Laurence West and John Cowper Cowper [sic], deceased, had granted the property to John Nicoll, Thomas Benerley, John Nunny, John Levesy and John Peerson, who had failed to make payments agreed upon, so had been disseised by Thomas Roger, attorney of John Hale.
