Deed of Defeasance (Feoffment)

Description: 1. Richard Nettleton, Erlsheaton, York, gent., to 2. Edward Hyde, Northbury, co. Palatine, Chester esq. All the manor, lordship etc. of Skellmanthorpe and all the messuages, houses, mills, dovecotes, rents and lands in Northbury, Hyde, Houghton and Skellmanthorpe. If Edward Hyde or his heirs pay to Richard Nettleton the sums of money specified: £150 by the 2 Feb 1690; £150 by 2 Aug 1690; £150 by 2 Feb 1691; £150 by 2 Aug 1691; £150 by 2 Feb 1692; £150 by 2 Aug 1692, the above recited leases etc. to be null and void. Edward Hyde to receive rents of premises until default is made in payment. Consideration: £5,000. 2 Aug 1689. Endorsed: Edward Hyde further borrowed £1,602 4s. 5d. and a further £1,305 9s. to be annexed to the principal sum. The premises within mentioned to stand as security. 2 May 1693.
