Letter from Henry Knollys to Sir John Oglander at his house in Newport, re. examinations sent to the Lord Treasurer on money found and claimed by Richard Gard, junior

Description: "I delivered to My Lord Treasurer your letter with the examinations about the treasure trove. The Council were clearly of the opinion that it was the Kings, when I received a petition on behalf of Richard Gard claiming that the money belonged entirely to him. Some complaint has been made by the inhabitants of Yarmouth about Capt. Burley for transporting corn in this time of dearth." (16/18)
