Description: Folio 769. To: The Local Government Act Office. From: B G Burford, Clerk, Lymington [Hampshire]. Subject Matter: Letter requesting advice as to how to act at the annual election of members of the Local Board for this district. Burford states that prior to the passing of the Poor Rate Assessment and Collection Act 1869, the owner, where he was rated under the Small Tenements Act instead of the occupier, was entitled to vote, and he asks whether he is still entitled to vote. He also asks for a reply by return of post as the voting papers must be sent out on Monday next.
