Description: Folio 303. To: George Bailey, Clerk to the Luton Local Board, Luton [Bedfordshire]. From: The General Board of Health. Subject Matter: Draft letter enclosing the sanction for borrowing £1406 4s 8d on the security of the Special District Rates for the purpose of constructing the proposed intercepting sewer. It is pointed out that the delay in issuing this had not originated from the Department, but the want of information from the Luton Local Board, and consequently had the drawings and estimate originally sent up corresponded with the plan proposed to be carried out, they could have examined it at once, and sanction could then have been given for the intercepting sewer at the same time as sanction for £1900 was given for the deodorising works.
