Description: Folio 249. To: George Bailey, Clerk to the Luton Local Board, Luton [Bedfordshire]. From: The General Board of Health. Subject Matter: Draft letter acknowledging receipt of a letter of the 3 December 1855 respecting the repayment of arrears due to the Treasury in respect of the costs of applying the Public Health Act 1848 to this district. It is advised that with reference to the application made, that the General Board have no powers to grant their request, but they are at liberty to address the Lords Commissioner of the Treasury on the subject.
